Why no-one has thought of it before is baffling! A vintage shop in Southside Glasgow! No longer must the South-sider’s trek into the city centre or over to west end, when they have their very own vintage / retro shop right there in the busy town of Shawlands.  And it needn’t be kept for the southsiders alone, as everyone must make their way to see for themselves how truly magical this little gem is.

Raw Vintage stock is made up of styles ranging from the 1920’s to the 1980’s. Casual, Party frocks galore what ever the occasion. In there you will also find re-cycled ranges e.g. kilts joined to the waist band of old levi’s and belts made from old leather belts and scarfs.

They  also stock a small but fantastic male range, including the popular mod brand Pop!

There is also small collections from Scottish designers. Sweet Jayne, Onnie, Torres, Jennie loof, Gasoline and Electra French. From made-to-measure evening and prom wear to fantastic street style they are all vintage inspired and fit right into an eclectic mix of old and new. As well as clothes there are also fabulous accessories from designers such as : Margolilly, Clobal Guru, Hillary Laing, Anna-Louise, Florence Box and Sally Ho.

However, all of these fabulous ingredients aren’t the only thing to make Raw Vintage stand out from the rest. The atmosphere is enlightening and friendly. Far removed from the pretentious notions that are so prevalent in our fashion industry today.

You are greeted and left to make yourself at home. If you need anything there is always a friendly and super stylish member of staff on hand to offer amazing advice.

The shop has been lovingly created by Lisa and Kevin Carr. Kevin together with his father Hugh have salvaged old scaffolding planks and rigged the most fantastic hanging space, to give these clothes the respect that they deserve. Antique furniture is used to display accessories, and with fresh flowers and scented candles sprinkled around the shop it makes you want to take your shoes off and spend the day. It all…….just works!
